Cable fault pre-location: with the reflectometer XHGG502 based on the low-voltage impulse reflection method(TDR), and high-voltage decay(flashover) method (DECAY), arc reflection method(single-shot/ multi-shot).




There are three test mode of XHGG502, low voltage pulse, high voltage flashover, ARC multi-shot.

The below picture shows cable length or cable open circuit fault distance measured by using low voltage pulse test mode of XHGG502. When using the low voltage pulse method, it is not necessary to connect the high voltage pulse generator.
