The high-voltage pulse generator fully complies with DL/T846-2016 "General Technical Conditions for High Voltage Test Equipment" and DL/T474-2017 "Guidelines for the Implementation of Field Insulation Tests". It is mainly used for impact discharge and withstand voltage tests in low and high voltage cable fault tests.

This device integrates a DC high voltage source, an energy storage capacitor, a discharge ball device, an automatic discharge device, a cable fault tester sampling module and a coupler into one cart-type high-end experimental instrument. This equipment completely solves the problems of convenience, portability, safety and reliability of traditional experimental devices.
The instrument adopts high-precision, high-stability special high-voltage electronic components and high-frequency high-voltage technology, so that the structure of the whole machine is simple. Panel function description
1. Ammeter: Indicates the magnitude of the current on the low-voltage side.

3. High voltage lamp (HV): On means there is high voltage output, off means there is no high voltage output.
4. Power light (Power): After turning on the power switch, the light will be on.
5. Zero position light (Zero): Indicates that the pressure regulating knob is in the zero position, and the high pressure can only be started when the zero position light is on.
6. Time setting: set the discharge time interval.
7. Power socket (AC220V): instrument working power supply, AC220V connection port;
8. Fuse socket: where the fuse of the AC220V power supply system is installed;
9. Power switch (NO/OFF): "Gear I"uses AC220V power supply to start the machine, and "Gear 0" turns it off.

11. Mode select: It is divided into three modes: withstand voltage (DC), single (Single), and cycle (Cycle). DC is the withstand voltage function. 12. Start button (Start): In the zero position state, press the start button, and the high voltage starts at this time, and the high voltage light is on. In the non-zero state, the start high pressure light is off.
13. Stop button (Stop): When the test is completed or an abnormality occurs, press this button to cut off the high voltage output, and at this time, the remaining high voltage of the test will be automatically discharged.

4. Signal ground (Signal GND): When using the multi-pulse method, it needs to be connected (the ground wire of the multi-pulse coupler).
5. High-voltage flash-over output (HV Flash OUT): dedicated DC high-voltage output terminal.
7. Multiple Pulse (Multiple Pulse): (Input Input Output Output): When using the multiple pulse method, the high-voltage flash-over output terminal and the multiple pulse input terminal are short-circuited with a high-voltage wire (as shown in the figure above), and the high-voltage output wire is connected to the On the multi-pulse output terminal.

Step

1. Turn on the AC 220V power supply;

3. Select the correct mode selection button. Generally, when testing cable faults, select the cycle mode, and you can hear the working sound of the internal motor at this moment; select the single mode, and you can trigger a single manual key at any time interval; for example, when doing a cable withstand voltage test , select the DC mode DC, the system will automatically switch to the withstand voltage mode, please slowly increase the voltage when doing the withstand voltage test. Press the start button, then the high voltage has been started, and the red high voltage light is on.
4. Start to increase the voltage, turn the voltage regulating knob, and slowly increase the voltage until the fault point breaks through and discharges. The voltmeter and ammeter discharge, and the pointer swings.
5. Connect to the host for waveform sampling and waveform analysis.
6. After the experiment is over, first adjust the voltage adjustment knob counterclockwise to the zero position, lower the voltage, and then press the stop button. Before pressing the stop voltage, it is best to lower the voltage, which is beneficial to protect the self-discharge device of the system. In an emergency, you can directly press the stop key first, and then adjust the voltage knob to zero.
7. After the high voltage is stopped, for the sake of personal safety, before disconnecting the wires, use a discharge rod to perform arc discharge on the cable, and then perform short-circuit discharge on the cable.

10kV DC withstand voltage operation example:
1. Check the site to ensure that all safety distances and safety measures meet the requirements.
2. High-voltage pulse generator safety ground (Safety GND), high-voltage ground (HV GND), sampling ground (Sampling GND), and discharge rods are respectively connected to the reliable ground row and fully grounded.
3. Confirm that the on-site installation is in good condition and the wiring is correct and good.
4. Connect the high-voltage output line of the instrument to the terminal of the tested product.
5. Connect the AC220V power supply and turn on the power switch.
6. Mode select (Mode selete) select the DC gear.
7. Observe whether the power indicator light (Power) and the zero position indicator light (Zero) are on. When the light is normal, press the start button (Start), and the high voltage indicator light (HV) is on.
8. Slowly adjust the voltage regulating knob (Voltage control) clockwise, and the ammeter (Ammeter) and voltmeter (Voltmeter) will display the voltage and current. When a certain voltage is raised, the zero indicator light (Zero) goes out.
9. Slowly increase the voltage to DC10kV. At this time, the DC withstand voltage test is being performed on the tested product. Observe the swing of the voltmeter (Voltmeter) and the ammeter (Ammeter) to reflect whether there is leakage or breakdown.
10. After the test is over, turn the voltage control knob (Voltage control) counterclockwise until it reaches the end, and the zero indicator light (Zero) lights up. (Observe the voltage indication of the voltmeter to prevent the wrong direction of rotation from causing accidents).
11. Press the stop button (Stop), and observe whether the voltage displayed on the voltmeter (Voltmeter) drops from 10kV to 0kV. Then use the discharge rod to connect the ground wire to fully discharge the tested terminal, and then short-circuit the high-voltage output and the ground to ensure sufficient discharge.
12. The instrument is turned off, all wirings are removed and arranged, and the test is completed.

20kV cycle impulse discharge operation example:
1. Check the site to ensure that all safety distances and safety measures meet the requirements.
2. High-voltage pulse generator safety ground (Safety GND), high-voltage ground (HV GND), sampling ground (Sampling GND) are respectively connected to the reliable row and fully grounded.
3. Confirm that the on-site installation is in good condition and the wiring is correct and good.
4. Connect the high-voltage output line of the instrument to the terminal of the tested product.
5. Connect the AC220V power supply and turn on the power switch.
6. Mode select (Mode selete) select the Cycle gear in the cycle.
7. Adjust the time setting. The left half of the time is the setting of the ball's pull-in time, and the right half is the setting of the disconnection time. Usually we set the time as 0 5 (0.01S) 0 6 (S), which is interpreted as 6S when two balls collide and discharge once. The duration of one contact is 0.05s.
8. After setting the time, observe whether the power indicator (Power) and the zero indicator (Zero) are on. When the lights are normal, press the start button (Start), and the high voltage indicator (HV) is on.
9. Slowly adjust the voltage regulating knob (Voltage control) clockwise, and the ammeter (Ammeter) and voltmeter (Voltmeter) will display the voltage and current. When a certain voltage is raised, the zero indicator light (Zero) goes out.
10. Slowly increase the voltage to DC20kV. At this time, a periodic impulse discharge test is performed on the tested product. Observe that the voltmeter (Voltmeter) and the ammeter (Ammeter) swing to react violently, and the discharge of the voltmeter drops from 20kV to 0kV instantly. The ammeter increases instantaneously. If the swing is as above, the breakdown discharge is sufficient.
11. Connect the cable fault tester to conduct a high-voltage flashover sampling test to roughly measure the fault distance.
12. Use the cable fault locating instrument to accurately locate the acousto-magnetic fault along the line.
13. After the test is over, turn the voltage control knob (Voltage control) counterclockwise until it reaches the end, and the zero indicator light (Zero) lights up. (Observe the voltage indication of the voltmeter to prevent the wrong direction of rotation from causing accidents).
14. Press the stop button (Stop), and observe whether the voltage displayed on the voltmeter (Voltmeter) drops from 20kV to 0kV. Then use the discharge rod to connect the ground wire to fully discharge the tested terminal, and then short-circuit the high-voltage output and the ground to ensure sufficient discharge.
