The cable sheath fault tester is designed based on the MURRAY bridge principle and can be used to locate the breakdown points of various wires and cables and the defect points with low insulation resistance but no breakdown. The device uses an electric voltage regulator and an R-type transformer to form a high-voltage constant current source, and the voltage can be raised or lowered by key operation. The no-load voltage is 15kV , the short-circuit current is 100 mA , and a high-sensitivity amplifier and a galvanometer are used to indicate the balance, and a balanced bridge is formed with a proportional potentiometer, and the whole is placed at a high potential. The measuring cable is a specially designed double-core high-voltage rubber cable, and the error introduced by the lead resistance is avoided by the four-terminal resistance measurement method. The panel is at a low potential as a whole. One-button operation, the input cable length can be automatically calculated, and the fault distance. The high-voltage source and the bridge are integrated in a portable protective box. Therefore, the device has high voltage, light weight, easy operation and safe use.
