It uses industrial-grade integrated circuits and devices, and has a built-in large-capacity lithium-ion battery, which is stable, reliable and easy to use.
This cable fault tester is a special instrument for measuring and analyzing the status and fault distance of power cables. This cable fault tester combines modern electronic technology and computer technology to achieve signal filtering, acquisition, data processing, graphic display, and graphic analysis to complete cable speed measurement, cable length test, and cable fault distance test.

1,Low voltage pulse method test principle:


The cable fault tester applies a low-voltage pulse signal to the cable under test. The pulse signal generates a reflection signal through the fault point of the cable. The cable fault tester processes the reflection signal and presents a waveform. The rough fault distance of the cable under test is determined by analyzing the reflection waveform.

2,High voltage flashover test principle

(1) Direct flash method: It is mainly used to test the flashover high-resistance fault of power cables. The DC high-voltage power supply applies DC voltage to the faulty cable under test. When the DC voltage reaches a certain value, the fault point suddenly flashes and discharges. The DC high voltage generates a reflected signal at the fault point. The reflected signal is received by a special sampler and transmitted to the cable fault tester. The cable fault tester processes the reflected signal and presents a waveform. The rough measurement of the fault distance of the tested cable is determined by analyzing the reflected waveform.

(2) Flash method (universal method): mainly used to test leakage high-resistance faults in power cables. The high-voltage pulse signal source applies a high-voltage pulse signal to the faulty cable under test. The pulse signal passes through the cable fault point, causing a flashover discharge at the fault point and generating a reflected signal. The reflected signal is received by a special sampler and transmitted to the cable fault tester. The cable fault tester processes the reflected signal and presents a waveform. The rough distance of the fault in the tested cable can be determined by analyzing the reflected waveform.

3,Multiple pulse method test principle

The function of the "multiple pulse generator" is to guide the instantaneous impact high-voltage pulse generated by the "high-voltage unit" to the fault phase of the faulty cable, ensuring that the fault point can be fully broken down and prolonging the arc duration after the fault point is broken down. The "multiple pulse automatic trigger device" immediately sends out multiple test low-voltage pulses in succession, which are transmitted to the faulty cable under test through the "multiple pulse generator-built-in high-voltage unit". The first eight test pulses use the short-circuit characteristics of the cable arc breakdown moment to form eight fault reflection pulses. After the arc is extinguished at the fault point, eight more test pulses are emitted to measure the cable open-circuit reflection waveform. Eight sets of secondary pulse waveforms are formed.
